See how we took this space from cluttered and closed-in to modern, fresh, and spa-inspired.
There’s nothing more satisfying than watching a tired bathroom blossom into a retreat-worthy space—and this remodel is a perfect example of just that. What began as a utilitarian setup with limited storage, dated finishes, and a built-in tub has now become a bold yet serene sanctuary, thoughtfully designed for both style and function.

Before: A Space in Need of Breathing Room The original bathroom featured a drop-in tub and surrounded by a wooden ledge and corner shower insert, leaving very little room to move or store essentials. The tile was traditional and serviceable, but lacked character. With limited natural light and a mix of miscellaneous accessories, the space felt cramped, cluttered, and in need of a major refresh.

After: A Soothing Spa-Inspired Escape
Designed by the talented team at Maggie Stephens Design, this transformation began by opening up the layout and introducing clean, modern lines. A sculptural freestanding tub now becomes the centerpiece, paired with a striking floor-mounted faucet. The wall-to-wall blue-green tile adds rich depth while maintaining a calming, nature-inspired vibe. A custom glass shower with built-in shelving and geometric floor tile enhances both function and beauty, while plants along the windowsill invite a sense of serenity.
Every detail in this updated space—from the sleek fixtures to the textured tile and thoughtfully layered lighting—was chosen to elevate daily routines into moments of luxury.
The Takeaway
A well-executed bathroom remodel isn’t just about new tile or a better faucet. It’s about creating a space that supports your lifestyle, reflects your aesthetic, and feels like a breath of fresh air every time you step inside. With expert guidance from one of our partner design experts, this transformation proves that even the most outdated room can become your favorite part of the house.
